COMMUNITY NOTICE – Redbank Dam 13 Safety

Late yesterday afternoon NSW SES issued an alert for residents in North Richmond to evacuate downstream of a dam identified by SES as “Redbank Dam”. That Dam is known as Dam 13 on the NSW Dam Safety register. It seems that a miscommunication may have occurred during this chaotic time for personnel within SES, and the evacuation order for the identified zone below Dam 13 may not have been necessary. Notwithstanding this, we should reiterate that the community should follow the directions of SES, RFS and NSW Police.

Employsure Jobkeeper Updates

ABC News reported that almost half the small businesses interested in JobKeeper, have not signed up.

Redbank has found a way to cut through all the confusion! Hop on the Employsure’s Facebook page, where you will find daily video updates from the MD, Ed Mallett has answered many of the confusing small business questions. For example, if the employee would have made a sum less than the $1500 fortnightly payment, does the employer get to keep the difference? The answer is no.

Covid-19 Small Business Support Grant

To ease the pressure on thousands of small businesses that have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the NSW Government has announced a Covid-19 Small Business Support Grant (up to $10k) as part of the NSW Government Small Business Support Fund.  This fund can be used for salaries, rent, utilities, marketing and other operations costs associated with the business.

Now using dam water for all irrigation

Redbank is now using dam water for all irrigation purposes across our entire site. This includes all parklands, street verges and the entry road into our estate.

Historically, this land has always been synonymous with dam water usage to irrigate the property and we are proud to be able to continue this traditional practice.

This will ensure that Redbank’s water usage is completely sustainable, renewable and safe for our estate.

Grose River Bridge Announcement

Redbank Communities, Roads and Maritime Services and Hawkesbury City Council are working together to prioritise plans and the approvals required to develop a new bridge crossing over the Grose River, connecting Grose River Road with Springwood Road at Yarramundi. We are currently investigating an option to build this bridge above the 1 in 100 flood level which would provide another option for access during a flood event.

Grose Wold RFS Is Looking For New Members

Grose Wold Rural Fire Service would love to have volunteers who are home during the daytime particularly during business hours, or people who work within the area that can respond to calls during the day.

Being an RFS member has plenty of benefits from general training to first aid courses, working with aircraft to paid truck drivers license and plenty more.

It comes with a great atmosphere, great teamwork, leadership, mateship and is a great way to give back to the local community.
