FREE Health Care Skillset TAFE Course for Redbank Residents

Redbank Communities has partnered up with TAFE NSW to bring to you all a FREE “Introduction to Health Care Skillset” course that will be delivered in early 2021.

We are now taking expressions of interest for this coursework which will be delivered by TAFE NSW exclusively for Redbank residents and purchasers. The classes will be held either at Redbank, or in a community facility around North Richmond. Seats are limited, so if you are interested please send us an email to expressing your interest.

This skillset will provide you with the opportunity to undertake some core health units in areas such as allied health, health services assistance, health administration, dental assisting, sterilisation, pathology, nursing, health support services, and sports and fitness. Additionally, units also cover areas such as effective communication with clients, colleagues, management and other health industry providers, as well as the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

You will learn about Work Health and Safety and infection prevention as well as the skills and knowledge in the safe work practices required for workers to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others. You will work with basic information about the human body, and how to recognise and promote ways to maintain its healthy functioning. This skillset will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to understand and respond to instructions; to carry out routine tasks and communicate with a range of internal/external clients in a medical environment; as well as use appropriate medical terminology.
